PayPal deposits: Everything you need to know

PayPal is an e-wallet that you can use to make safe payments online.

How do I open a PayPal account?

You can open a PayPal account for free here.

Before you get started, here are some points to keep in mind:

  • You don’t need to pre-load your PayPal account before making a deposit. Link your Visa, Mastercard or bank account, and then make your deposit from the Cashier.
  • You can have one PayPal account.
  • The country registered to your PayPal account needs to match the one you registered with us.
  • You can only make withdrawals to your PayPal account if you’ve deposited with PayPal in the past 12 months.
  • We don’t charge any fees when you use PayPal. But any fees that PayPal might charge will be your responsibility.

How do I deposit into my user account?

  1. Log in to your account and go to the 'Cashier'. If you're on our website or using our mobile app:
    Web Cashier
  2. Hit 'Deposit' and pick ‘PayPal’ from the list.
  3. Choose your preferred currency if that's an option for you.
  4. Enter the amount you want to deposit and a bonus code, if you have one.
  5. Confirm the payment on PayPal by following the instructions on the screen. For security reasons, PayPal might ask you for an extra authentication step. If that's the case, you'll need to type a one-time passcode that PayPal will send you.
  6. Press the green button to complete the deposit.

You’ll receive the money in your account right away.

Why didn't my deposit go through?

If your deposit didn't go through, it may be because:

  • Your PayPal account wasn't created successfully.
  • The country registered on your PayPal account doesn't match the one you registered with us.
  • You don't have enough money in your PayPal account.
  • The email address or password you entered isn't correct.
  • The PayPal account you're trying to use is already linked to a different user account.
  • The currency of the card you linked to your PayPal account wasn't recognized. Try to remove and add that card again.

If you encounter any difficulties, contact PayPal directly.
